This piece, Romantic Ways, Runabout Days, was on display in the 20th Annual International Marine Art Exhibition show at the Mystic Maritime Gallery in Mystic, Connecticut, September 1999. It depicts a couple in the 1930s enjoying a cruise on the bay in their Chris-Craft. The technique is color scrimshaw on ancient wooly mammoth ivory. A limited color palette was selected to suggest a sepia-tone photograph. The piece is mounted on a hand-made poplar base with mahogany overlay and brass pins. This piece is about 4-7/8 inches tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the ivory and just under 5-7/8 inches wide at the widest point of the base.
